Want to Make a Room POP?

You've spent weeks maybe months searching for the right pieces of furniture for your room. You've scoured the internet on how best to style your room but somehow the room still looks like it's missing something. Or maybe you have a room that needs a refresh but you don't want to buy new furniture. Look no further than those walls. Adding texture to your walls can be an easy and inexpensive way to completely change a room. Here are Style My Abode's favorite ways.

PAINT

Paint is the easiest option is change any room. You can paint the entire room or paint an accent wall. Painting techniques like stripes, a harlequin design, sponging and Strié (above) described here for your walls will surely give any room a refresh. Even if you have brick walls, try painting them a solid color or apply a whitewash (photo below of @legadohouse).

BOARD & BATTEN

Looking for something a bit more than just paint? How about applying board and batten or wood strips to your walls. This is a project for the advanced DIYer but with a little patience and the right tools, anyone can do it. Instagram DIY Queen Angela Rose, shows anyone how to apply board and batten to their walls.

WALLPAPER

We love wallpaper! The options are endless and you don't need to hire a professional if you go the self-adhesive route. So if you are ready to give your walls a makeover with the peel and stick wallpaper, read this article.
